Kitchens

Russi / Van Etten Residence, Newbury Park, California

Wanting a Tuscan look and feel to their kitchen, the clients and I explored stained stone tiles that blended with the granite the clients chose. These tiles are on the hood and in the field above the stove. The color palette of reddish terra-cotta granite and golden toned splash above the mosaics all lend to the Tuscan appeal. Ms. Russi faux finished the walls herself to give the final old world touch.

The clients’ love for curves is seen in the arched opening over the greenhouse window, the opening from kitchen to the dining room area, and in their far left lower cabinet. This was a great collaboration between me and my clients and we really enjoyed working with each other to make this finished product happen.

White Residence, Oakpark, California

The previous kitchen was poorly designed and did not work well for this couple who love to entertain. By repositioning the appliances and shortening the peninsula, this newly remodeled kitchen now works perfectly for their needs. Atop the new honey-colored cabinets, the granite counter is complimented by splash materials of dark grey limestone & tiny glass tile “keys”. These butterscotch glass tiles repeat the dominant color in the granite and are also placed as accents on the kitchen floor.

Jennings Residence, Agoura, California

Their previous kitchen was old, dark and not fully functional for this very active family of four. After picking the brains of the clients, it was apparent they wanted somewhat of a tropical Tommy Bahama look; Therefore we came up with dark wood floor, dark counters and crisp white cabinets for a clean new look and very functional kitchen.

Paullus/Greene Residence, Newbury Park, California

Both houses being in the same tract, this is the exact floor plan but the mirror image of the Russi/Van Etten kitchen (first & second photo above). In this plan, we closed up the opening to the adjacent room and in the other, we made the opening into an arch. These particular homeowners wanted Mission style cabinets in deep cherry, which a local craftsman custom fabricated.

Design House ’00, Camarillo, California

This Spanish Hills kitchen needed completion but not renovation as you see in all the other kitchens on this site. The developer provided only a 6” splash out of the granite counter material. I designed a mixed stone liner to be placed on top of it and then finished the splash with black marble tile up to the upper cabinets. To warm up the space, woven shade window treatments, new table with chairs and tropical fan above, plants, and very important accessories polished this space to be quite an inviting comfortable place to be.

Beau Rugs created the beautiful hand-painted sisal area rug for this showcase house.

Denson Residence, Agoura Hills, California

This is mi casa’s kitchen. My townhouse is in the middle of two other units and there isn't a window offering natural light. Because of this, I chose white cabinets and installed numerous recessed lights (not only in my kitchen but all 30 in total). Most the upper cabinets have glass doors & shelving with interior lighting that provide an entire other dimension to this ‘bowling alley’ kitchen floor plan. One cannot fully appreciate this until the have viewed the previous kitchen shots in “before & after”.
